If I leave school, it's expected to be to go home to Boston. Which I decline to do, as my sister will dragoon me into being her personal assistant while she plans her wedding. This is the fate of everyone who goes anywhere near her between terms. The extent to which I am willing to be involved in her wedding is as follows: I will attend.
So I will not be going to New York, because I do not want to go to Boston. It makes sense in my head. Breathe a sigh of relief, world.

Friday the 13th - not especially unlucky this time around, at least for me. Others have apparently not fared so well.
Friday itself has of course been considered an unlucky day since at least the fourteenth century thanks to Canterbury Tales, though some place the origin of that particular superstition with the Norse tales of Frigga being spiteful due to to the conversion of her people to Christianity.
Of course, the reasons for the number 13 being unlucky seem to come down to either numerology or 'it just is,' which is a little frustrating. One would think there'd be some kind of real reason.
